The holiday season is officially in full swing. It’s time to gather with family and friends and get in the spirit! If you’re not already, I’ve got just the thing… The winter wonderland of lights on the Downtown Square! This lighting the night parade illuminates the entire square every evening from 5 pm to 1 am and will remain on through January 1st 2020!

Along with the amazing lights featured they also have nightly holiday activities, delicious hot chocolate to warm you up, and festive music to put you in even more of the holiday spirit! This is the perfect event for people of all ages and sizes. You can go with your family, or even bring someone special to take in the Lights of the Ozarks.

Other activities they have available include pony and carriage rides starting at $6 a person for pony rides and $25 for the first two people in a carriage ride. It’s $10 for each additional adult and $5 for each additional child. If you want to make it even more special, private carriage rides are also available for $40. If you were looking for a great way to propose or ask that special someone to go steady, here’s the perfect chance!

The big man himself, Santa Claus, will also be in attendance inside the Fayetteville Town Center December 1 from 6-9 p.m., December 5-8 from 6-9 p.m., December 12-15 from 6-9 p.m., and December 19-23 from 6 - 9 p.m.! Bring the kids and take a picture with Santa on your own device for free, or maybe even your Christmas card!

Wandering through the spectacular lights you’ll probably be drawn to the smell of all the food trucks that will be located on the downtown square all throughout the light show. They will be serving up food and drinks such as Jammin' Java, Flavorful Kettle Corn, Chowhounds Street Grub, The Little Red Barn Churreria De La Frontera Y Mas!

The hard 3,300 estimated hours of work the Parks and Recreation workers spend decorating the square is definitely something you don’t want to miss out on. Holiday activities will continue through December 31st and are weather permitting. The Lights of the Ozarks are such a fun time and can get any Scrooge feeling festive. I’d personally like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. I look forward to staying connected with all of you in the new year!
